Dave Mitsky is a very active amateur astronomer who resides in the Harrisburg area.  A member of the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg (where he has served as vice president and trustee among other positions), the Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County, and the Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers, Dave is also a skilled astrophotographer.  He is very active on numerous Internet astronomy forums and has written articles regarding the purchase of telescopes and other gear, the Walter Lunar Ray (which he discovered), viewing the 1998 Caribbean total solar eclipse, and many other astronomical topics.  He contributed a chapter to a book in Patrick Moore's Practical Astronomy Series entitled "Astronomy with Small Telescopes".  Dave frequents star parties throughout the nation and is a regular attendee of the Stellafane Convention.  Some of his compositions and photos are available in this area, which is dedicated to a person who is an asset to the hobby of amateur astronomy.
