Cherry Springs Star Party
Capital Campaign UPDATE:
PAGE 3- Click on ANY Image to make it Bigger!
This page features some pictures of the 14" LX200GPS up close, the scope is FAIRLY similar to the LX200GPS's smaller than it in aperture but there are several differences.

The 14", like the 16", comes with a screw in the back which stops
the mirror/focusing mechanism from moving during shipment. A plug is included
to fill this hole once you unscrew the red screw.

The 14" features a newly engineered fork, not just an extension of
the 12 inch versions fork mount.

The 14" uses the Giant Field Tripod that the 12" uses, however
the accessory kit Meade gives with the scope, includes Vibration Suppression
pads.

The 14" most certainly comes in a new box with new foam.

And 15 billion thumbs up go to Meade for this change! Jacks for the Illuminated
Reticle and MicroFocuser are placed in the form arm of the scope to better
manage the cords, this separates the cords which are almost always on the
move from other cords which won't be moving, or the Handbox control.
Thanks for visiting, please go to www.astrohbg.org to learn about what we'll be using the scope for, where it will be going, about the existing Observatory, where it will be placed, and more about the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg!
