Mission
The purpose of the society is to promote interest in astronomy through education and observation of the heavens. The society is a non-profit organization and draws its members from the general public. There are approximately 110 members with a wide variety in interests and background in astronomy. These include basic astronomical observation, astrophotography, comet hunting, meteorics, and planetary sciences among many things.
