2009 Junior Events
The Astronomical Society of Harrisburg (ASH) is proud to announce our 2009 Junior Events schedule. Our Naylor Observatory will be open to all children and their parents on these certain dates that are listed below. For the past couple of years the observatory has been open for junior to learn simple astronomy and get too experienced with the hobby. At these listed events, everyone will get to view the planets, moon, various deep sky objects, and get watch demonstrations of the crater impacts on the moon and other activities. Each event will have a different topic presentation. The presentations can be about the moon, the planets, and the sun.
Weather conditions determine if we will be open on a scheduled date.
Only certain nights it will be clear. We cannot predict what the weather is going to be like. If it raining or cloudy the observatory will be closed and we will have the Junior Event on the rain dates which are listed below. If it is patchy clouds, please call the observatory at (717)-938-6041 about fifteen to twenty minutes before the start of the event and see if we will be open for the event.
