New! Introductory Observational Astronomy Course
Our popular observational astronomy course is in its 40th Year, with more than 1,000 graduates who are now better able to enjoy the night and daytime sky visually, and with binoculars and small telescopes. Courses begin the first Wednesdays of April and September and run eight consecutive Wednesdays at our Naylor Observatory, 7:00 to 9:00 PM, followed by informal observing with 'scopes and binoculars if the sky is clear. Instructors are all experienced skywatchers from the Society.
The course is open to those 14 and older and preregistration is required. Cost is $40 and includes Peterson's Field Guide to Stars & Planets and an Edmund Star & Planet Locator planisphere. Send a check to the Society c/o Bob Young, 224 Herr St., Harrisburg 17102.
